Dear 4B students and parents,

 

This year we will again be running the ‘VIP of the week’ program.

 

This program allows one student each week to be the centre of attention and display their talents and interests to the class.   This letter will explain what is involved in being the ‘VIP of the week’ in 4B and when it is your turn.

Being the ‘VIP of the week’ involves the following privileges and responsibilities:

 

• Being at the front of EVERY line, with a partner of your choice.

 

• Sitting in the special VIP seat when we have learning time on the floor in the classroom.

 

• Taking home the VIP book and decorating a double page with your name and anything you enjoy doing like poetry, story writing, drawing or cartooning. Stick in photos of yourself, friends, family and pictures of things you like.

 

• Your choice of two activities off the Special Activity List to present to the class.

 

• You are excused from the homework during your VIP week

 

The transition of one VIP to the next will usually happen on a Friday morning after your final presentation for the week – (your VIP book pages).

You will complete two activities (to the best of your ability) and present to the class during your week as VIP.

 

This year one of the two activities has to be either a timeline of your life in a poster or PowerPoint format or organising a guest speaker for our class!!

 

SPECIAL ACTIVITY LIST:

MUST CHOOSE ONE OF FOLLOWING TWO!

–    Make a timeline that shows 7 or 8 important events in your life from birth till now. Include pictures, drawings written descriptions. You must then be prepared to present it and talk about it to the class.

–    Organise an interesting guest speaker for the class. Prepare four questions to be asked and conduct the interview. Allow 10 minutes question time for the class.

 

ONE CHOICE FROM FOLLOWING!

–    Select, prepare and present a Maths or English game to teach to your class.

–    Prepare a display of your favourite homemade menu for a lunch or dinner. Prepare one food that could be sampled by the class, tell us about making this food.

 

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT WE HAVE CHILDREN WHO MAY BE ALLERGIC TO NUTS, COCONUT, LENTILS, SOY PRODUCTS, SESAME SEEDS AND CHICKPEAS!!!

 

–    Use your craft and art skills to create a piece of work that you could present to the class. Write up the step-by-step process you used to create your artwork and tell the class about it.

–    Present a magic trick to the class

–    Tell some jokes to entertain the class

–    Create your own “Perfect Menu” and present it to the class

 

Your presentation of a special activity to the class will take place on Friday morning.
